John Marshall High School  School-Wide Learner Outcomes

Graduates from John Marshall High School will be globally aware individuals who are able to use 21st Century skills demonstrated by the ability to:

  1. Think critically and solve problems. Students will:
  • Evaluate evidence, compare challenging claims, and make decisions based on common core standards
  • Create connections between information and arguments
  • Interpret information and draw conclusions based on the best analysis
  • Reflect critically on learning experiences and processes
  1. Communicate effectively. Students will:
  • Articulate thoughts and ideas effectively orally and in writing in a variety of forms and contexts
  • Listen effectively to interpret meaning in various contexts
  • Use communication to inform, instruct, motivate, and persuade, in diverse environments
  • Employ multiple media and technologies effectively.
  1. Collaborate. Students will:
  • Work together to solve unfamiliar problems in both conventional and innovative ways
  • Work effectively and respectfully with diverse teams
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to accomplish a common goal

  • Use a wide range of idea creation techniques (such as brainstorming and thinking maps)
